Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity unit serving PCU and Med-Surg/Telemetry patients with a target ratio of 1:4–5
  • Manage and monitor patients with COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, PE, and COVID-19, many with complex comorbidities
  • Operate and monitor specialized equipment including chest tubes, vents/trachs, CPAP/BiPAP, and drips (Dopamine, Cardizem, Heparin)
  • Perform telemetry monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including a team lead, respiratory therapists, admission/discharge nurse, vascular access team, RRT, and behavioral health team
  • Float to like units as required; document using Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR

Required Qualifications

  • Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable for submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Proficiency in IV starts, ventilator management, telemetry, and CPAP/BiPAP
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start
  • Local candidates are welcome; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible at a reduced rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • NIHSS certification preferred
  • Experience with chest tube management and vasoactive/cardiac drip administration
  • Familiarity with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR documentation systems
