PACU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced PACU Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills in a post-anesthesia care environment and have experience working with both adult and pediatric patients. This position requires the ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures.
  • Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and assess patient conditions in the PACU setting.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Document patient information using Epic charting and ensure accurate medication dispensing through AcuDose.
  • Care for patients across various surgical specialties, including ICU, MRI, Oncology, and Interventional Radiology.
  • Float to related units as needed to assist with phase two recovery patients.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as required, including weeknights and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU experience, with critical care or intermediate unit experience preferred.
  • Active RN license in North Dakota or a Compact RN license.
  • Current certifications in ACLS, PALS, and BLS (all certifications must be from AHA).
  • Experience with Epic charting system.
  • Experience working with pediatric patients is required.

Work Schedule

This position requires 12-hour day shifts, with start times ranging from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM. The schedule may include 36 or 48 hours per week, along with on-call responsibilities.

Unit Information

  • 16-bay Phase I PACU with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:1 or 2:1.
  • Ability to work with diverse surgical specialties and patient populations.
  • Mandatory badge in and out at the facility.
  • Scrubs provided in Ceil Blue color.

Additional Notes

Travelers residing within a 60-mile radius will not be accepted. Local travel rates apply for those living 60 to 80 miles from the facility, with adjusted client rates. Candidates must specify if they have previously worked with any other organizations within the region.
