Job Summary: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients during a designated time frame. The RN provides care using the nursing process, current trends, technology, and available resources within the institution's philosophy. Responsibilities include performing unit-specific duties, implementing procedures and theories, maintaining accurate documentation, developing and modifying care plans, ensuring patient and employee safety, and collaborating with colleagues for professional development.

Required Qualifications:
 

• Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
• Illinois state RN License in good standing.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).

Preferred Qualifications:
 

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Additional Information:
 

• Assess ortho and medical/surgical patients every shift.
• Educate patients on wound care, mobility, self-care, medication management, and care transition needs.
• Coordinate with physician and surgeon partners for patient care.
• Delegate and monitor interventions of HCT staff.
• Set up ortho traction and manipulate surgical traction devices.
• Manage wound appliances such as wound vacs, drains, pouches, and other urological devices.
