Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a focus on orthopedic care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing orthopedic and neuro spine patients in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to orthopedic, neuro spine, and post-surgical patients.
  • Monitor patient conditions and manage pain effectively.
  • Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Float to other medical-surgical units as needed based on staffing requirements.
  • Participate in weekend duty on a rotational basis and make up time for any weekend call-offs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a focus on orthopedic care.
  • Epic experience is preferred; first-time travelers are welcome.
  • Current certifications:
    • BCLS
    • NIH
  • Preferred certifications: ACLS, charge nurse experience, and Level I trauma experience.

Patient Care Environment

The unit caters to an average daily census of 37 patients, with a capacity of 39 rooms. Nurses will manage a patient-to-nurse ratio of 5-6:1, which may flex up to 7:1 during peak times.

Scheduling

Shifts are 12 hours, from 06:45 to 19:15. The unit offers flexibility in scheduling, including block scheduling options for convenience.

Additional Information

  • No allowances for RTO (Requested Time Off) after booking.
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to starting this position.
  • No holiday RTO will be approved.
