Trauma Operating Room RN – Circulating RN

Location: Not specified
Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Local Rule: Must live 100+ miles from the facility

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with strong trauma experience, primarily for circulating duties. The RN will support operative procedures, prepare the OR, coordinate with the surgical team, and provide safe intraoperative patient care.

Requirements

• 3 years of OR experience required
• Trauma experience required
• Circulating RN experience required
• Graduate of an accredited/NLN-approved RN program
• Current RN license in the applicable state
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• PALS required
• BSN highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform OR circulating and/or scrubbing duties
• Prepare the operating room for procedures
• Assemble and check equipment and supplies
• Ensure equipment is functioning properly
• Verify required supplies and implants are available
• Maintain appropriate aseptic/sterile technique
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia, and other OR team members
• Serve as a communication liaison between patients, families, and the surgical team
• Assist with admissions to the operative suite

Call Requirements

Call coverage is required and may vary based on staffing and PTO:

• Monday–Friday: 3:30 PM–7:00 PM
• Monday–Friday: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Saturday/Sunday: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Saturday/Sunday: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Holiday call required: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve night, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve night, and New Year's Day
• Expect approximately 1–2 call shifts, depending on staffing needs
