Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the Operating Room for general surgical patients.
• Assist with a variety of surgical procedures, including:
  • General surgery
  • Urology
  • GYN
  • ENT
  • Vascular
  • Cystoscopy
  • Da Vinci robotic procedures
  • Lap chole, lap colon, lap appendectomy
  • Hysterectomy
• Work with surgeons, surgical technologists, anesthesia, and OR staff.
• Scrubbing is NOT required for RNs.
• Document using EPIC OP Time.
• May float to other surgery teams or SPD if qualified.
• Follow sterile technique and OR safety protocols.

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN License – Required
• BLS (AHA) – Required
• 2+ years of OR experience – Required
• Recent experience with:
  • General Surgery
  • Urology
  • GYN
  • ENT
• EPIC experience – Required
• Must be comfortable with call and weekend rotation.
• 30-minute call response time required.
• Hospital-provided scrubs.
