Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in the operating room and must be prepared to circulate various surgical procedures. This position involves both day and evening shifts, with a focus on ten-hour days and occasional eight-hour evening shifts.

Responsibilities

• Circulate a wide variety of surgical cases including, but not limited to:
• • General/GYN/Urology/Peripheral Vascular surgeries
  • Orthopedic surgeries including total joints and trauma
  • Neurosurgical, ENT, Oral, and Plastic surgeries
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort during surgical procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental orientation programs.
• Adhere to protocols for sterilization and infection control.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an operating room setting.
• Current certifications required: ACLS and BLS.
• Familiarity with Cerner or similar electronic medical record systems is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Scheduling

• Primarily day shifts (0700-1730) with some evening shifts (1500-2330) rotating approximately every five weeks.
• Responsibility for one long call per week and one weekend call approximately every five weeks.
• Floating responsibilities to an outpatient surgery center may be required.

Dress Code

Uniforms will be provided through a vending service at no cost, with required attire being navy blue scrubs.

Orientation

Comprehensive orientation program will be provided, including 2-3 days of initial training followed by 1-2 weeks of case-specific learning.
