Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our dynamic team. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, providing critical care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• Circulate a variety of surgical cases, including General, GYN, Urology, Orthopedics, Neuro, ENT, Oral, and Plastics.
• Assist with major procedures such as bowel resections, laparoscopic surgeries, and total joint arthroplasties.
• Participate in patient assessments and prepare patients for surgery while ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal outcomes for patients.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and procedures.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.

Shift Details

This position primarily involves 10-hour day shifts, with additional 8-hour PM shifts approximately once every five weeks. The schedule rotates through a mix of day and potential night shifts, as well as weekend and holiday coverage.

Call Requirements

Expect to be on-call once weekly and approximately once every five or six weekends. Confirmation of call response times and expectations will be provided during orientation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an OR RN.
• Certifications required: ACLS and BLS (AHA).
• Strong background in circulating various surgical specialties.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Unit Information

• Number of OR suites: 16
• Average cases per day: 28
• Use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Cerner
• Orientation provided with an educator and hands-on training for specific cases.

Dress Code

Uniforms will be provided through a vending service at no cost. The designated scrub color is navy blue.
