Operating Room Registered Nurse (Circulating) – Travel Nursing Contract in Rockport, Maine
Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel nursing contract in Rockport, Maine. Travel Nursing Job Details

- Contract Length: 13 weeks, ending January 15, 2027
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shifts per Week: 4
- Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts ("8 Hour Days"), scheduled within the 7:00 AM–4:30 PM daily window
- Schedule: Four scheduled day shifts per week with a rotating day off
- Call Requirements: One weeknight of call per week from 4:30 PM–7:00 AM and one 48-hour weekend call rotation approximately every 6–7 weeks, based on staffing needs
- Charting System: Epic
- Position Availability: 1 opening
Operating Room RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Maine
- Minimum 5 years of Operating Room circulating nurse experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Experience working in a smaller hospital or community-based Operating Room preferred
- Experience across multiple surgical service lines
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required for call responsibilities
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and willingness to assist with room turnovers and unit needs
Operating Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, comprehensive circulating nursing care for surgical patients throughout the perioperative experience
- Prepare operating rooms, verify equipment and supplies, and support efficient room setup and turnover
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and the broader perioperative care team
- Support a variety of surgical procedures, with experience in orthopedics, urology, OB/GYN, general surgery, and ENT valued
- Maintain strict adherence to patient safety, sterile technique, surgical counts, and documentation standards
- Monitor patient status and advocate for patient needs before, during, and after procedures
- Respond to weeknight and weekend call assignments as scheduled
- Assist with other unit or patient care needs during periods of low census, including one-to-one support when needed
- Contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and team-oriented workplace where every team member works together to deliver excellent care
