Registered Nurse (RN) – General Surgery / Operating Room

Contract (13 Weeks) | Onsite | Weekdays, 4 days per week, combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts | Expected 40 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide optimal patient care utilizing the nursing process — assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation — across an entire episode of care
• Deliver comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including their families and caregivers, within a Level II Trauma OR environment
• Support a wide range of surgical procedures including trauma, neurosurgery, Da Vinci Xi robotic surgery, urology, vascular, open heart, orthopedic, and pediatric cases across 18 operating rooms
• Demonstrate cognitive and psychosocial competency appropriate to the patient population served, from neonates to geriatrics
• Coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams and exercise sound clinical judgment in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Participate in call requirements as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active Nevada State RN license required prior to start date
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Competency assessment (CMP) completed within 1 year of start date (required for Pre-op/Recovery RN, PACU, OR, and SDS roles)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Trauma OR setting
• Prior travel nursing experience of at least one completed 13-week assignment required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center environment
• Familiarity with robotic-assisted surgical systems, including Da Vinci Xi
• Experience with neurosurgical, vascular, or open heart surgical procedures
• Comfort working in high-volume, high-acuity settings serving diverse patient populations
