Demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to develop long-range goals or plans. Continuously develops the ability to cope with and manage clinical contingencies. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to manage clinical situations. Meets expectations related to competencies in nursing practice. Consistent with the nursing scope and standards of practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Utilizes appropriate protocols to administer medications and treatments. Monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers. Identifies issues and resources to support care.
