Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our combined Adult and Pediatric Medical-Surgical unit in Sweetwater, Texas. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population, ranging from adults to children, within an acute care hospital setting.
The ideal candidate will be adept at managing a varied caseload, typically maintaining patient ratios of 1:4-6. This position requires a compassionate professional committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult and pediatric patients on a combined Medical-Surgical unit.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and monitor patient responses according to physician orders and hospital policies.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, symptoms, and overall progress in the electronic health record.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and clean environment for all patients.
- Manage patient assignments effectively, adhering to typical ratios of 1:4-6.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Ability to provide care for both adult and pediatric patient populations within a medical-surgical setting.
