Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology

Job Description

This position is for a Registered Nurse in Oncology, offering a float pool opportunity across various units. The selected candidates will be expected to work a combination of day and night shifts in a rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing treatment for cancer and other related conditions.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patients for any adverse reactions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about treatment options, side effects, and supportive care strategies.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with healthcare regulations.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience in oncology nursing preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Work Environment

The role includes assignments in various oncology-related units, including:

  • Oncology
  • Research Oncology
  • Palliative Care
  • Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)
  • Medical Oncology

Availability

All candidates must be willing to float between different units as needed across multiple locations within the region.
