Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Clinic Duration: 26 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 5 years RN experience License: Active RN License Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, OCN preferred Must-Have: - Minimum 3 years oncology experience, preferably in Med/Surg Oncology - Ability to float to other facilities - Telephone triage nursing experience - 2 years outpatient oncology experience Description: Position involves providing nursing care in an oncology clinic setting. The nurse will manage patients with various head and neck cancers. Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and immunotherapy. The role involves patient and family education and support. The nurse will coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams. Clinical trial participation and survivorship care are integral parts of the role. Pre- and post-operative surgical oncology care will also be required. Wound and drain management as well as patient exam support will be performed. Education on tracheostomy care is part of the responsibilities. The nurse will assist in managing symptoms and providing supportive care.
