RN Infusion and Oncology

Position Overview

This role requires a skilled Registered Nurse with a focus on outpatient oncology and medical infusion. The position involves delivering high-quality patient care in an outpatient setting, primarily responsible for administering chemotherapy, biologics, and immunotherapy treatments to patients.

Schedule

The standard working hours for this position are from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing outpatient infusion therapies.
  • Administer intravenous medications, including chemotherapy, biologics, and immunotherapy, according to established protocols.
  • Monitor patient responses to treatments and provide appropriate interventions.
  • Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, potential side effects, and self-care techniques.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of current experience in outpatient oncology or medical infusion settings.
  • At least 1 year of outpatient nursing experience is required.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems, specifically EPIC.
  • Certification in chemotherapy, biologics, and immunotherapy from ONS is mandatory.
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification is strongly preferred.
  • IV skills are required.
  • BLS certification is mandatory.
