Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Leukemia & Hematology Unit – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on unit needs; variable weekend coverage

Highlights:

• Specialize in caring for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients in a medical oncology/hematology setting
• Goal staffing ratio of 1:4 (may flex to 1:5 based on census)
• 72-hour orientation to support a smooth transition
• Epic electronic charting system
• High-acuity patient population with focus on blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management
• Collaborative interdisciplinary team including Pharmacy, Respiratory Services, Rapid Response, and Social Services

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or step-down environment
• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• NIHSS certification (preferred)
• ONS Chemotherapy certification (preferred but not required)
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line/PICC line management, and starting IVs
• Epic charting experience required
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required; at least one must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will be screened for client review
• Must be available to complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
