Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in oncology nursing required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and OCN preferred Must-Have: - EPIC documentation system experience - Travel experience required Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for an oncology clinic focusing on hematology and leukemia. The successful candidate will work day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The position involves caring for adult and geriatric patients with various blood disorders. Daily census ranges from 50 to 75 patients. Key patient diagnoses include chronic lymphocytic leukemia, chronic myelocytic leukemia, and other hematologic conditions. The nurse will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care. Responsibilities include patient education, assessment and management of complications, and coordination of care. Knowledge of patient management related to chemotherapy, transfusions, and the handling of blood products is crucial. Candidates should possess skills in phlebotomy, central line care, and administration of chemotherapy. Familiarity with managing side effects and abnormal lab values is necessary. The position requires adaptability and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Must be available for flexible scheduling, including potential floating between similar units.
