Description:
This position is for a registered nurse specializing in oncology.
The role is located in a busy surgical oncology unit that cares for mixed acuity patients.
The unit focuses on infection prevention protocols and patient safety.
Staffing ratios typically goal at 1:4 but can be 1:5 depending on the unit needs.
Staff may be required to float within their scope of practice.
Scheduling is variable and may include a combination of days and nights.
Candidates will care for adult and geriatric patients with various diagnoses, including breast, thyroid, colon, and rectal cancers.
Special procedures include chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, and management of oncologic emergencies.
Candidates must have experience with telemetry and be able to interpret dysrhythmias.
Strong teamwork with interdisciplinary support teams is essential to the role.
All candidates must have a current valid nursing license and appropriate certifications in hand at the time of application.
