Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Oncology Floor RN position is located at a tertiary care hospital with a focus on treating all types of cancer patients across various phases of care. The role involves administering inpatient chemotherapy regimens, providing post-operative care for uro-gyn and gynecologic-oncology surgical populations, and supporting a step-down neuro overflow unit for neurological emergencies. This position requires adaptability to float within scope to meet facility needs.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS certification, Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC), 2 years of oncology experience, active license accepted, minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting, experience with inpatient oncology and charting system experience preferred (EPIC)
  • Preferred Qualifications: Charge nurse experience, previous experience in teaching hospital settings, additional experience with managing ports, administering chemotherapy, and oncology-specific emergency procedures
  • Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information: Position involves working in a primary oncology unit treating all cancer types through various phases including work-up and therapy completion. Responsibilities include administration of inpatient chemo, post-op care for surgical oncology patients, and neuro overflow care for stroke and neurological needs. The unit supports interdisciplinary teams including IV, respiratory, radiology, social services, and pharmacy.
