Job Summary
Join our dedicated team as a Travel Registered Nurse specializing in Inpatient Oncology at an acute care facility in Cumming, Georgia. This vital role involves providing comprehensive, compassionate care to adult patients undergoing various cancer treatments, managing complex symptoms, and supporting their families throughout their journey.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care, including chemotherapy administration, pain management, and patient education, within a fast-paced inpatient setting. Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team is essential to ensure optimal patient outcomes and a supportive healing environment.
This is a 13-week contract assignment, offering 12-hour AM shifts, three days per week, providing an excellent opportunity to expand your oncology nursing expertise in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to oncology patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
- Administer medications, including chemotherapy and other specialized oncology treatments, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes, and intervene appropriately, escalating concerns to physicians as needed.
- Manage symptoms such as pain, nausea, fatigue, and other treatment-related side effects.
- Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment plans, medication management, and self-care strategies.
- Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in an Inpatient Oncology or Medical-Surgical Oncology setting.
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Cumming, Georgia.

Licensing Requirements
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia or a Compact State license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
