Level III NICU | 37.5 Hours/Week | Locals & First-Time Travelers Accepted

Requirements

• 1.5+ years of experience
• Documented Level III NICU and PICU experience required
• Active NJ or compact RN license at submission
• BLS, NRP and PALS
• Epic experience required
• Experience caring for extremely premature neonates, including those under 24–28 weeks

Required Clinical Skills

• Arterial lines, central/implanted lines and UAC/UVC management
• IV vasopressors, steroids and surfactants
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Ventilator management
• Bottle, breast and gavage feedings; oral/NG/NJ tube placement and management
• Neonatal abstinence syndrome care

Schedule & Floating

• Every other weekend
• Mandatory floating to PICU, Pediatrics and Newborn Nursery, with assignments based on skill set
• Ratios listed as 1:2, subject to unit, acuity, census and staffing
• Winter holidays: work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays, based on department needs
• Facility may cancel 1 shift every 2 weeks
• Navy pants with a pediatric scrub top

Submission Details

• RTO limited to 7 days or less; candidate confirmation screenshot required
• Include all RTO and scheduling requests at submission—no requests approved after offer
• At least 1 supervisory reference required at submission
• Former RWJBarnabas employees must have 1 year of separation
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Pre-start and annual modules required; listed as non-billable
• COVID-19 vaccination not required
