- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; approximately 3 shifts per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
- Setting: Pediatric float pool with NICU focus
- Orientation: 60 hours
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
- Holiday Coverage: Every other holiday required
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license; pending Virginia RN license may be accepted if in hand by the required start timeline
- Minimum of 2 years of PICU experience required
- NICU experience required; comfort working across pediatric critical care and acute care areas
- Epic charting experience required
- BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS required
- Infant-Driven Feeding certification required, or able to submit with pending completion
- Strong travel nursing experience preferred
- Must be comfortable floating within scope across multiple pediatric units
- BSN preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents
- Support patients in the NICU, PICU, pediatric ER, acute pediatrics, and related units as assigned
- Monitor and manage complex pediatric and neonatal conditions, including respiratory, neurological, cardiac, and post-surgical needs
- Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitation when assigned to NICU coverage
- Administer medications, blood products, and advanced therapies in accordance with unit standards
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, child life, therapy services, and other interdisciplinary team members
- Use Epic to document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately and efficiently
- Adapt quickly to changing unit needs while maintaining a patient- and family-centered approach
- Follow all float pool policies, infection prevention standards, and clinical best practices
