Opportunity:

RN - Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse

Job Details:

• Float pool position requiring travel to both campuses in Oak Lawn and Park Ridge
• Assignments are posted 90-120 minutes prior to shift start
• Weekend rotation every 3rd weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Time off requests to go through manager for approval
• Patient population includes premature infants, unstable newborns requiring medical care, and surgical patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 with no CNAs on unit
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP
• Required skills include SERVO and HFOV vents, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, and inhaled nitric oxide (iNO)
• Must be proficient with umbilical and arterial lines and drips
• Must be proficient with NG tubes, G-tubes, and enteral feeds
• Charting systems used: EPIC, Pyxis, Alaris, and Phillips monitor
• 24/7 support available from Respiratory Therapy and Neonatologist
• Charge nurse is free floating; nurses station and bedside monitoring with no tele tech
• Each patient has their own stethoscope for infection prevention
• Scrubs are provided on the unit for infection prevention purposes
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• One orientation shift on unit with another RN
• Free parking available

This facility is a Magnet-designated teaching hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center with a Level III NICU consisting of 54 beds and 180 total hospital beds. The facility provides comprehensive neonatal care with around-the-clock support from neonatologists and respiratory therapists. The organization is committed to infection prevention and maintains high standards of patient care across multiple campuses within the health system.
