• Shift: Day shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling period
• Scheduling Style: Self-scheduling with block scheduling expectations
• Float Requirement: May float to nearby pediatric, PICU, or pediatric ED areas as needed
• Unit Setting: Level IV NICU
• Patient Population: Neonates
• Charting System: Epic

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required; 2+ years of NICU experience strongly preferred
• Level III or Level IV NICU experience preferred
• Active Registered Nurse license required; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• BLS and NRP Advanced certifications required
• Experience with Epic charting required
• Strong experience with neonatal patient ratios and high-acuity care preferred
• Ability to work scheduled weekends and commit to holiday coverage as assigned
• References and compliance documentation required prior to start

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate care to premature and critically ill neonates in a busy NICU nursing environment
• Monitor patient status, respond to changes in condition, and collaborate closely with the neonatal care team
• Administer medications, blood products, and neonatal treatments safely and accurately
• Support respiratory care interventions and assist with advanced neonatal therapies
• Perform comprehensive assessments, document care in Epic, and maintain accurate patient records
• Educate and support families throughout the neonatal intensive care experience
• Float to related pediatric areas when needed to support patient care needs
• Maintain a professional, team-oriented approach in a high-acuity healthcare setting
