- Scheduling: Self-scheduling with block scheduling preferred
- Weekend Requirement: Approximately 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period
- Charting System: Epic
- Orientation: 40 hours
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license required; compact license must be in hand at submission if applicable
- Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience required
- Level III NICU experience strongly preferred
- BLS and NRP Advanced certifications required
- Experience with Epic charting preferred
- Ability to care for neonates with complex medical and surgical needs
- Comfort working with a patient ratio of 1:2-4
- Willingness to work weekends and follow the assigned schedule
- Ability to float to related pediatric units as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care to neonates in a high-acuity NICU setting
- Monitor and manage infants with prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, HIE, and surgical diagnoses
- Administer medications, blood products, feeds, and other neonatal treatments per plan of care
- Support respiratory care interventions including oxygen delivery systems, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, ventilator support, and related therapies
- Perform neonatal assessments, thermoregulation support, APGAR scoring, and developmental care
- Assist with central line care, IV management, lab collection, and other NICU procedures
- Educate and support families with compassionate, family-centered care
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe, effective patient outcomes
