Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Level III position is available in a facility that provides specialized neonatal care. This role involves caring for critically ill and high-acuity neonates, including infants requiring advanced respiratory support and therapeutic cooling. The NICU RN will work in a fast-paced environment, managing complex patients independently and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional neonatal care.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Active RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), 3+ years of experience caring for high-acuity neonates, therapeutic cooling experience, location requirements (must hold a valid license in the state where the facility is located)
  • Preferred Qualifications: Travel experience preferred for traveler positions, additional certifications based on facility policy
  • Additional Information: Provide direct nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates. Manage infants requiring therapeutic hypothermia or cooling therapy. Oversee high-acuity patients needing advanced respiratory and hemodynamic support, including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen. Monitor and manage central lines, PICC lines, umbilical lines, and other invasive devices. Administer and titrate IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products. Recognize neonatal deterioration and emergency situations, participate in neonatal resuscitation, and collaborate with the NICU team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Maintain accurate documentation and provide education/support to families.
