Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Level III, providing care in a specialized neonatal intensive care setting. This role involves managing critically ill neonates requiring advanced respiratory support, therapeutic cooling, and complex medical interventions. The position demands an experienced nurse adept at high-acuity neonatal care and collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12 hours shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Active RN license, BLS certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), 3+ years of NICU experience, therapeutic cooling experience, comfort with independently managing complex NICU patients, location requirements (as applicable)
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous travel experience in neonatal ICU settings
- Additional Information: Provide direct nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates. Manage high-acuity patients requiring advanced respiratory and hemodynamic support, including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen. Monitor and manage invasive devices such as central lines, PICC lines, and umbilical lines. Administer IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products as ordered. Recognize neonatal deterioration and emergency situations, participate in resuscitations, and perform comprehensive assessments. Collaborate closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the NICU team. Provide education and emotional support to families, maintaining accurate clinical documentation throughout the assignment.
