Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Stepdown Neuro.
The role requires a mix of acuity, including medical surgical and telemetry care.
Registered Nurses should be prepared to care for up to six Med Surg patients.
The unit comprises 48 beds and specializes in medical surgical patients with neurological needs.
Patient conditions may include strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, and brain tumors.
Staffing ratios for medical/surgical patients are generally 1:5 during the day and can be 1:6 or 1:7 at night, although the rare night ratio is mentioned for awareness.
The stepdown ratios are 1:3-4 for both days and nights.
Registered Nurses are expected to manage drips and have previous experience in large healthcare settings.
All travelers must be nicotine-free.
Weekend shifts consist of four weekend shifts out of eight possible within a four-week period.
Travelers must be open to working two out of three major holidays throughout the contract duration.
Floating within the facility is a requirement, and Registered Nurses will be notified an hour prior to shift start.
Required skills include management of cardiac and vasoactive drips, craniotomy care, and telemetry monitoring.
