Description:
This position requires a Registered Nurse in the Stepdown Neuro specialty.
Travelers should be prepared to float frequently to meet staffing needs.
The unit cares for medical-surgical patients, specializing in neurology and neurosurgery.
Patient conditions include strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, and brain tumors.
Nurse-to-patient ratios for Med-Surg/Telemetry are typically 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night.
In rare cases at night, this may increase to 1:7.
Stepdown ratios range from 1:3 to 1:4, both days and nights.
Applicants must have two years of experience in a large, urban hospital setting.
Familiarity with managing various drips is required.
Floating within scope to meet facility needs is expected.
RNs may be required to float to various units.
Work will include weekends, with four shifts out of eight possible in a four-week period.
Holiday work is mandatory, requiring availability for two out of three major holidays.
