Opportunity:

RN - ICU - Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour evening/night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend rotation required with some holiday coverage
• Will accept 4x12 schedule
• Will accept Friday through Sunday block scheduling
• Patient ratio of 2:1 on days, nights, and weekends
• Must be willing to work with both ICU and IMC patient population
• Float to other units as needed
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty required
• Travel experience required
• ICU experience required; neurosurgery experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Basic arrhythmia experience required
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with a score of 80% or higher (two attempts allowed)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA only), Wisconsin or compact RN license
• Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patient, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drain (EVD) management, ICP monitoring, lumbar drain management, post craniotomy and post neurosurgery management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, traumatic brain injury care, ventilator management, and spinal cord injury care
• Special equipment experience required: EVD, lumbar drains, and CereLink monitor
• Must have experience with ICP monitoring or ventriculostomy
• Locals within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted

The 18-bed Neuroscience ICU is certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and specializes in the care of critically ill adult patients with a variety of neuro diagnoses including stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, surgical resections, and trauma. The unit provides interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services.
