Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week, 3 shifts per week
• Weekend requirement of 3 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) plus 1 Friday and 1 Monday per 4-week schedule
• Holiday shifts assigned as needed
• Preference and block scheduling available with adjustments based on unit needs
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• 2:1 patient ratio in a 20-bed Neuro ICU
• Common patient diagnoses include stroke, dialysis, head bleeds, ventric/EVD, and neurological disorders requiring critical care
• Required to titrate drips including Levophed, phenylephrine, Versed, paralytics, heparin, insulin, nicardipine, and vasopressin
• Work with respiratory therapy equipment including ventilators, BiPAP, high flow, and nasal cannula
• Monitor techs observe telemetry remotely from another floor
• Charting system: EPIC
• ICU and critical care experience required
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a specialized Neuro ICU with 20 beds and maintains an intensivist in house during the day with on-call coverage at night and 24/7 APP coverage. The unit benefits from a free charge nurse not included in staffing ratios, nurse aide support at a 10:1 ratio, and 24/7 respiratory therapy coverage. The facility uses EPIC as its charting system and supports a collaborative care environment with strong specialist support.
