Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week, every other weekend required

Highlights:

  • Comprehensive Stroke Center specializing in ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, craniotomies, carotid procedures, aneurysm management, and complex neurological conditions
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1 (may flex to 3:1 during high census periods), average daily census of 11-12 patients
  • Contract length from 13 weeks up to February 27, 2027, providing coverage through the holiday season
  • Advanced equipment experience including EVDs, lumbar drains, Camino ICP monitoring, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun
  • Epic EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
  • 24-hour orientation program with no call requirement

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required (strong neuro critical care background essential)
  • Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
  • Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
  • Proficiency in ventilator management, IV starts, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drains, ICP monitoring, post-neurosurgery management, and isolation precautions
  • Experience with stroke patient populations strongly preferred
  • Arterial line management experience preferred
  • Willingness to float within facility as needed
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
