Description: Client unit consists of 20 beds. Patient to nurse ratio is 6:1. Tech support available on day and night shifts. Unit secretary available from 7 AM to 7 PM. Equipment includes IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse oximetry machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and iMobile communication technology. Documentation system utilized is Meditech. Scheduling requires 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, including 2 weekends. Floating policy dictates that contract labor is first to float, with rotation utilized when multiple contract labor staff are scheduled. Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members. Bedside shift report is standard practice. Nurses will make personal connections with patients and involve them and their families in the care plan. Certifications include Comprehensive Stroke, ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, and Certified Chest Pain Center. Uniform consists of navy scrubs, both tops and bottoms.
