    Travel RN – NICU | 13-Week Contract

    Location

    Webster, TX | Acute Care – NICU

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Projected Start: October 12, 2026

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct nursing care to NICU patients ranging from 22 weeks gestational age and above, including Level 2 and Level 3 acuity patients, maintaining patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1 (L3, acuity-dependent) and 3:1 (L2)
    • Administer medications and expressed mother's breast milk (EMB) using the five patient rights, including safe medication calculation and appropriate EMB handling
    • Manage and monitor patients on respiratory support including CPAP, NIPPV, High Flow Nasal Cannula, conventional ventilators, oscillators, and JET ventilators
    • Provide care for patients with NG/OG tubes, PIVs, PICCs, UAC/UVC lines, and support developmentally appropriate care for preterm infants
    • Perform proficient lab draws, conduct NAS scoring, and escalate patient concerns appropriately
    • May float to Mother Baby unit to manage newborns as needed; weekend availability required (nights: up to 5 weekends Friday/Saturday/Sunday per assignment)
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Texas or compact state eligibility
    • Minimum 1 year of NICU nursing experience
    • BLS certification required
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
    • Proficiency with NICU equipment including radiant warmers, isolettes, syringe pumps, feeding pumps, ventilators, oscillators, JETs, CPAP, NIPPV, and EKG monitors
    • Experience with EMR systems (CPN and/or Meditech preferred)
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with endotracheal tube (ETT) management and high-frequency/JET ventilation
    • Experience caring for patients undergoing therapeutic hypothermia (cooling)
    • Experience with NICU surgical patients
    • Familiarity with procedures such as intubations, UAC/UVC placement, LP, PICC placement, and bedside surgical procedures
