Registered Nurse – NICU-Based Float Pool

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 8:00 AM) | Every other weekend required | Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Level III NICU setting with floating required to PICU, Pediatrics, and Newborn Nursery (NBN); an appropriate patient assignment based on skill set will be provided when floated
- Manage IV therapy and medications including A-line management, central line/implanted line care, UAC/UVC, IV vasopressors, steroids, and surfactants
- Perform dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- Provide GI and neurological care including bottle, breast, and gavage feedings; placement and management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes; and care for patients with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Active New Jersey RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and PALS
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience; documented NICU Level III and PICU experience must be reflected in employment history
- EPIC charting experience required
- Floating to PICU, Pediatrics, and Newborn Nursery is required without exception
- Local candidates are welcome and accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for premature and critically ill neonates in a high-volume regional perinatal center environment
- Familiarity with pediatric critical care including full-spectrum medical and surgical patient populations
- Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers are also considered)
