Registered Nurse – NICU-Based Float Pool

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 8:00 AM) | Every other weekend required | Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to premature and critically ill neonatal patients in a Level III NICU setting, with floating required to PICU, Pediatrics, and Newborn Nursery based on unit needs
- Manage advanced IV therapy including A-line management, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, UAC/UVC, IV vasopressors, steroids, and surfactants
- Perform cardiac and respiratory monitoring including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- Support GI and neurological care including bottle, breast, and gavage feedings; placement and management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes; and care for patients with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC; EPIC experience is required
- Accept an appropriate patient assignment based on skill set when floated; floating to other units is required without exception
Required Qualifications
- Active New Jersey RN license or Compact license required at time of submission
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and PALS
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience; documented NICU Level III and PICU experience must be reflected in employment history
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
- Ability to float to PICU, Pediatrics, and Newborn Nursery as needed
- Local candidates are welcome and accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a high-volume or regional perinatal center environment
- Familiarity with caring for neonates requiring complex medical and surgical interventions
- Prior travel nursing experience, though first-time travelers are accepted
