    Contract | Nights | 3x12 or 4x12 Hours (18:45–07:15) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a NICU setting with an average daily census of 30 and a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio
    • Float to Mother Baby and Pediatrics units as needed based on departmental requirements
    • Provide every-other-weekend coverage as part of standard scheduling expectations
    • Participate in holiday coverage for 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's) based on departmental needs and fair staff rotation
    • May be assigned to an Emergency Team by the unit manager during emergency events, with an expectation to remain at the facility or serve as part of a relief team until the event has passed
    • Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records system
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Compact or Louisiana RN license in hand at time of submittal
    • BLS certification required (AHA)
    • NRP certification required
    • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required for previous travelers; minimum 3 years of NICU experience required for first-time travelers
    • Epic electronic health records experience required
    • NURSYS report must be submitted with profile and current within 4 weeks of submission date
    • Must live more than 65 miles from the facility (as measured from the address on the driver's license to the facility address) to be eligible — local travelers are not accepted
    • Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors at this health system must have been separated for a full year before being eligible to return as a traveler
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Familiarity with NICU patient diagnoses and procedures in an acute care environment
    • Experience floating to Mother Baby or Pediatrics units
    • Comfort working in high-acuity, fast-paced neonatal environments
