Job Opportunity – NICU RN (Level III/IV) – West Texas
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: West Texas

Schedule: Self-scheduling model with block scheduling; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period; 48-hour work weeks approved; 12-hour orientation. Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2-4.
Highlights:
- Work in a 181-bed Children's Hospital designated as a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with a 43-bed Level IV NICU
- Flexible self-scheduling with variable weekend coverage over a 6-week block
- Care for a diverse patient population including premature neonates, respiratory distress, surgical cases (all subspecialties except cardiac), hypoglycemia, sepsis, and HIE
- Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including interpretation services
- Average daily census of 35 patients; floating PRN to Pediatrics, PICU, or Pediatric ED as needed
- 13-week contracts available, with option to extend for longer assignments if desired
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
- Level III or Level IV NICU experience strongly preferred
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Experience with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2-4
- Epic charting system experience required
- Proficiency in advanced NICU skills including ventilator management, central line care, high-frequency ventilation, administration of blood products, UAC/UVC management, therapeutic hypothermia, nitric oxide therapy, and care of high-acuity neonates
- Two professional references covering one year of experience within the last three years
- Commitment to work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
