TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Mother Baby RN in Tacoma, Washington, 98405!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Post-Partum (Mother Baby) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Yes Certifications: BLS Certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Must-Have: Newborn transition and post-delivery magnesium management Experience in titrating drips Description: COVID vaccination required. This unit provides care for postpartum patients and newborns. The unit has a total of 32 postpartum beds. There are 11 labor and delivery beds and 7 antepartum/high-risk beds. Daily, approximately 4000 births occur per year in the facility. The unit adheres to AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios. Common patient diagnoses include pre-eclampsia, gestational and insulin-dependent diabetes, high BMI, multiples, and substance abuse disorders. RNs are required to titrate drips including magnesium. There are CNAs available to assist on the unit. An OB/Neonatologist is on-site 24/7. A neonatal advanced practice provider is also available around the clock. Respiratory therapy equipment such as vents, CPAP, and BiPAP is available for NICU patients. The monitoring system used is Centricity Perinatal. Nurses may be required to float to L&D for normal newborn transitions. Client scrubs or personal scrubs are permitted on the unit. There is a call requirement if the RN is on call due to low census. Weekend and holiday work is required. The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to four shifts during a 13-week assignment. The charting system utilized is EPIC.
