Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum Duration: 13 or 26 weeks (traveler choice) Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in high acuity postpartum care License: Compact license required Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: High Risk Obstetric care experience; EPIC experience Description: Perm candidates from any other facility are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. All facilities honor active compact licenses. Travelers with at least 2 years of experience in high acuity postpartum care are accepted. The ability to manage a surge in census is essential, where travelers may be asked to manage a fourth couplet. Required experience includes handling postpartum hemorrhage, magnesium sulfate therapy, and the administration of Pitocin. Foley catheter management experience is also needed. Experience with substance withdrawal is preferred. Epic experience is mandatory; candidates without it will not be considered. Weekend coverage requires a commitment to work 6 weekend days per contract. The unit is characterized by a large volume and high census of diverse patients, with many being high-risk obstetric patients. Interdisciplinary support is provided by various teams, including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, and Social Services, among others. Travelers may be expected to float between facilities. Refusal to float may result in assignment termination. Communication devices will be provided to perform assigned duties at no cost to the traveler. Travelers should not reach out directly regarding positions unless it is for an agreed-upon interview. Modules are completed prior to the start of the assignment, and they are self-reported for completion tracking. References covering a year of experience are required.
