    Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Neurology

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights (4x12 Hours, 18:45–07:15) | Onsite | 13–26 Week Assignment | 36 or 48 Hours Per Week Accepted

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a Neurology unit with a focus on general medicine and neurological diagnoses
    • Maintain a patient ratio of 1:6, applying a teamwork approach with a strong focus on patient safety
    • Utilize Pyxis for medication administration, EPIC for clinical documentation, and SBAR for communication
    • Float to other units as needed; travelers are expected to float first
    • Fulfill weekend shift requirements, approximately every other weekend (5–6 weekend shifts per contract)
    • Be prepared to serve on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or declared disasters as required
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact nursing license
    • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
    • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
    • Must pass EKG testing prior to start
    • Demonstrated teamwork approach to patient care with a focus on patient safety
    • Willingness to float within and near the facility per assignment requirements
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • NIH Stroke Scale certification or experience
    • Prior neurology nursing experience strongly preferred
    • Experience in or willingness to learn the charge nurse role
