Contract | Nights (4x12 Hours, 18:45–07:15) | Onsite | 13–26 Week Assignment | 36 or 48 Hours Per Week Accepted
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Neurology unit with a focus on general medicine and neurological diagnoses
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:6, applying a teamwork approach with a strong focus on patient safety
- Utilize Pyxis for medication administration, EPIC for clinical documentation, and SBAR for communication
- Float to other units as needed; travelers are expected to float first
- Fulfill weekend shift requirements, approximately every other weekend (5–6 weekend shifts per contract)
- Be prepared to serve on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or declared disasters as required
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact nursing license
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Demonstrated teamwork approach to patient care with a focus on patient safety
- Willingness to float within and near the facility per assignment requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIH Stroke Scale certification or experience
- Prior neurology nursing experience strongly preferred
- Experience in or willingness to learn the charge nurse role
