Schedule / Job TypeContract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a general Medical Surgical unit, including post-operative orthopedic and general surgery patients
- Manage a patient ratio of 1:6, with occasional 1:7 on a 36-bed unit with high patient turnover
- Perform timely admissions and discharges in a fast-paced environment
- Float as needed, including occasional assignments to ICU for step-down or Medical Surgical overflow patients
- Utilize Cerner EMR and Mindray Telemetry System for documentation and patient monitoring
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Must be eligible for New Mexico state fingerprinting; candidates' submitting agency must be registered with the state of New Mexico (fingerprint process may take several weeks)
- Ability to float as needed and work every other weekend
Preferred Experience / Skills- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Experience with Cerner EMR and/or Mindray Telemetry systems
- Familiarity with step-down or ICU-level patient care
