Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (Travel)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 45-bed Medical/Surgical unit serving orthopedic, general surgery, urology, and medical patients with diagnoses including CHF, COPD, and pneumonia
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:6 on nights, delivering organized and patient-focused nursing care
- Operate unit equipment including Plum pumps, Pyxis, Ascom phones, bladder scanner, EKG machine, and Phillips Cardiac Monitor
- Accurately document patient care and assessments using EPIC EMR
- Perform telemetry monitoring and demonstrate proficient IV skills
- Float within the unit as required and complete assigned LMS education modules
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Proficiency in IV skills and telemetry monitoring
- Ability to float and adapt to unit needs as required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- PALS certification (required only if assigned to care for pediatric patients on the general floor)
- Experience with medical/surgical patient populations including orthopedic, urology, and general surgery
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR
- Positive, professional, and team-oriented work style
