    Registered Nurse – Palliative Care

    Contract | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Day/Evening/Night rotating shifts | Weekends, holidays, and on-call per unit need

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide intensive symptom management and end-of-life care for adult patients (age 18 and up) with complex needs
    • Perform astute patient assessments to advocate for patients who may be unable to speak for themselves
    • Deliver strong IV therapy and wound care interventions
    • Support patients and families in crisis with compassion and professionalism
    • Manage patients utilizing patient-controlled analgesia pumps as needed
    • Care for general medicine overflow patients as unit census requires
    Required Qualifications
    • Active New York State RN License
    • Minimum 2 years of recent palliative care or acute medical/surgical nursing experience
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
    • Strong IV skills and wound care competency
    • Telemetry experience is not required
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) pumps
    • Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN) certification
    • Demonstrated ability to manage patients and families in high-acuity, emotionally complex situations
