Level II Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Float

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights) | Every Other Weekend | Holidays, On-Call, Callback, and Charge responsibilities per unit needs. No straight shift schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide competent, evidence-based patient care in a Medical Surgical float capacity in accordance with established standards of practice
• Assume expanded role responsibilities including Charge Nurse, preceptor, and committee member duties as needed
• Deliver care under the direction of the Nurse Manager, adapting to varying unit environments as a float nurse
• Participate in on-call and callback assignments per unit needs
• Contribute to service excellence, professional development, and research-informed practice initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License (NY License ONLY)
• Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience
• Telemetry experience required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) ONLY

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a float pool or multi-unit nursing environment
• Experience in a charge nurse or preceptor role
• Familiarity with quality improvement or shared governance committee participation
