    Job Title

    Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Women's Care Unit

    Location

    Peoria, IL | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Night Shift | 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 4 weekend shifts per schedule period | Holiday rotation required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on an 18-bed Medical Surgical Women's Care Unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6, caring for patients including hysterectomy, mastectomy, postpartum (mothers only), and general medical/surgical cases
    • Perform and manage NG tube placement, Foley catheter placement, and blood administration
    • Titrate drips including heparin and insulin; manage set-rate drips as required
    • Monitor patients with cardiac monitors as needed (strip reading not required)
    • Collaborate with charge nurses, housing supervisors, and patient care technicians to ensure safe, high-quality care
    • Float to other general medical units as needed based on staffing requirements
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
    • Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
    • Demonstrated experience with NG placement, Foley placement, blood administration, and heparin and insulin drips
    • Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
    • Candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a local pay rate
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience caring for postpartum patients and women's health populations
    • Familiarity with CPAP and related respiratory therapy equipment
    • Experience working in units with patient care technician support
