    Job Title

    Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

    Location

    Peoria, IL | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on an 18-bed Medical Surgical unit serving general medicine patients with a variety of diagnoses, maintaining nurse-to-patient ratios of 5–6:1 on nights
    • Titrate Heparin drips and manage patients with oxygen requirements up to 6L NC, as well as stable BiPAP/CPAP
    • Perform IV starts and utilize unit resources as needed; collaborate with inpatient phlebotomy team for blood draws
    • Work alongside two Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) per shift, a 24/7 Charge RN, and a 24/7 House Supervisor
    • Float to other units as needed, as travel RNs are first to float per unit policy
    • Adhere to weekend rotation requirements (Fri/Sat nights, every other weekend) and participate in holiday rotation per policy
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
    • BLS certification required
    • Ability to work in a drug-free environment; negative drug screen required for all panels
    • Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at the standard contract rate
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Minimum 1 year of hospital-based nursing experience preferred
    • ACLS certification preferred, particularly for those interested in Charge RN responsibilities
    • Familiarity with telemetry monitoring; unit utilizes Philips equipment with remote telemetry support
