Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to a complex medical-surgical and oncology patient population, including GI, GU, and general surgical cases
• Perform and manage clinical skills including PIV insertion, chest tube and indwelling drain management, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), stable drip administration (heparin, Lasix, Protonix), epidural management, PEG/NG tube care, ostomy care, post-Whipple care (24–28 hour postop), and neutropenic precautions
• Demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills across a 32-bed unit with a day-shift patient ratio of 1:4–5
• Float as needed to a secondary campus location with a minimum of 2 hours notice for cross-campus floats; mid-shift float within the same campus is also possible
• Adhere to weekend and holiday rotation requirements: three weekends per six-week schedule and every other holiday
• May be required to precept nursing students and new hires at this teaching facility

Required Qualifications

• Current, active compact RN license
• AHA BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum of two years of strong Medical-Surgical experience
• At least one prior travel nursing assignment
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Recent Epic EMR experience required (checkoff class will be required upon start)
• Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with surgical oncology patient populations
• Familiarity with post-Whipple procedure care and neutropenic precaution protocols
• Demonstrated adaptability and resilience in fast-paced, changing clinical environments
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
