    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical (Observation)

    Location

    Newburgh, IN

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed Medical-Surgical Observation unit, managing a patient population that includes chest pain, abdominal pain, CVA/TIA, generalized weakness, and geri-psych placement cases
    • Administer and monitor stable drips including heparin, Lasix, and Protonix, and perform peripheral IV insertion
    • Apply strong assessment and critical thinking skills to monitor and respond to changes in patient condition throughout the night shift
    • Float within skillset to alternate campuses with a minimum of 2 hours notice; mid-shift float within the same campus is also possible
    • Adhere to a weekend rotation of three weekends per six-week schedule and an every-other-holiday requirement
    • May be required to precept students and new hires as this is a teaching facility
    Required Qualifications
    • Current, active compact RN license
    • AHA BLS certification (must be current)
    • NIHSS certification (must be current)
    • Minimum of two years of strong Medical-Surgical experience
    • At least one prior travel nursing assignment
    • Trauma Level II experience required
    • Recent Epic EMR experience required
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience working in an observation or step-down unit setting
    • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change, work resiliently in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
    • Comfort working alongside LPN and CNA support staff in a team-based care model
