Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical/Surgical unit in an inpatient hospital setting
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols
- Monitor and document patient progress, changes in condition, and response to treatment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe, quality patient outcomes
- Adhere to all facility policies, Joint Commission standards, and state regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – must be valid and in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
- All required certifications must be obtained and verified prior to start date
- Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel placement
- Must comply with New Mexico State fingerprinting requirement (LPNT): all clinical staff must be fingerprinted before hire and provide documentation that the check is being processed; travelers may begin on a 14-day waiver with supervision while awaiting results
- Orientation takes place on Mondays
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in a Medical/Surgical setting
- Familiarity with Joint Commission accreditation standards and stroke or chest pain center protocols
